Application Areas
Film Coating
Our HPMC 2910 series (Pharcocel E series) provides clear, flexible film coatings for tablets. Used at 8-15% solids in aqueous systems with inlet temperatures of 50-70°C for optimal film formation.
Controlled Release
HPMC 2208 series (Pharcocel K series) forms hydrophilic gel matrices that control drug release over 8-24 hours. Higher viscosity grades (KC 100000) provide extended release profiles.
Solubilization
PEG 400 and Polysorbate 80 enhance the bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs through micellar solubilization. PEG 400 is used at 10-30% in oral liquid formulations.
Ointment & Suppository Bases
PEG blends (3350/1000, 4000/400) create water-soluble bases for ointments and suppositories, offering tunable melting points and consistency.
