Binders & Processing Aids for Tiles & Ceramics
Pharcos supplies water-soluble polymers and processing aids for the ceramics and flooring industry. Our products serve as binders in tile body preparation, dispersants in glaze formulation, and lubricants in pressing operations. PEG and GMS are key products that improve workability, green strength, and fired quality of ceramic tiles.

Application Areas
Tile Body Binding
PEG 4000-6000 (Pharcos PEG) at 0.3-0.8% on dry tile body weight provides excellent binder properties. It improves spray-dried granule flowability and pressing characteristics.
Mold Release
GMS (Pharcos GMS) serves as an internal lubricant and mold release agent in the pressing of ceramic tiles, reducing defects and improving tile surface quality.
Glaze Preparation
Castor Oil Ethoxylates (Pharcos CE 200) at high moles provide stable dispersion of glaze components with good flow and leveling properties during application.
Why Choose Pharcos for Ceramics & Flooring?
Proven Binder Systems
PEG-based binders provide excellent green strength with clean burnout during firing, leaving no residual ash.
Processing Improvement
Our lubricants reduce pressing defects and improve surface quality of tiles during the forming stage.
Cost Optimization
We help optimize binder and lubricant usage levels to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.

Common Questions
Questions about our ceramics & flooring solutions
PEG 4000 in flake form is our standard recommendation for ceramic tile body binding. Use at 0.3-0.8% on dry body weight, added to the ball mill during slurry preparation. Higher molecular weight PEGs (6000-8000) may be used for larger format tiles requiring greater green strength.
